Addition to the Marshall and Grundy ARES Link System

At the last meeting Brian, N0MXK, announced that over the next several weeks there will be an addition to the link system used for Marshall and Grundy county ARES.

A UHF repeater will be added in the downtown Grundy Center area thanks to the donation of some space by the Grundy County Sheriff's office. This repeater will be linked to 443.325, 444.150 and 53.030.

This will be the only repeater currenly in Grundy county and will provide better portable coverage throughout the county.

Field Day 2005

The Central Iowa Radio Amateur Society will be participating in this year's Field Day event. This year Field Day occurs on the weekend of June 25th and 26th.

The location this year will be the same as last year, the National Guard Armory at the corner of 9th and Summit in Marshalltown. Setup will be the Friday evening before field day at around 5:30.

This year we will be operating as 3A station. Two of our transmitters will be the usual HF SSB stations and the 3rd will primarily be a CW and digital mode station. In addition we will have a satellite station which does not increase our overall transmitter count.
